Welcome to the Lotus Warrior 200 HOUR YTT. Through this transformational process, we offer you a year to learn, grow and become an amazing Yoga teacher through our fully LIVE online (on zoom - no pre-recorded classes) Training program. We also offer daily and weekly in-person yoga classes and one-to-one appointments with our lead teacher. about the modalities of this program
Shamanism teaches us how holistic psychology - most importantly. how to effectively self-analyze, exploring the current blocks to our character development and learning how to work through them with more understanding. Through this work we may see a difference in our practical life - how we feel and choose to conduct ourselves on a daily basis. Shamanism also explores how we relate to others and the world around us. In this program we teach Mayan & Navajo medicine wheels of knowledge and ceremonies that have been passed down for thousands of years.
Through yoga we teach you how to heal common problems such as lower back pain, pinched nerves, sore joints and carpel tunnel syndrome as well as mental and emotional stress. You'll learn hatha/vinyasa, spinal hatha and the basics of Ashtanga yoga for all ages suitable for beginners to experienced practitioners. Here we also learn various breathing techniques (pranayama's) to work with fatigue, anxiety, depression and other ailments and conditions. You'll learn how to create a practice (sequencing) to teach different target clientele as well as Yogic Philosophy to understand the spiritual concepts of this beautiful tradition.
Developed thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine, Kung Fu & qigong uses exercises to improve the flow of energy within the body, mind, and spirit. Kung Fu teaches the basics of martial arts based movement which disciplines the mind and body-memory simultaneously. Qigong practice involves moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind. Both practices offers a number of mental, physical, and emotional benefits. The best part is that the simplicity, variety, and adaptability of these practices make them accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR




Donny Day has been practicing Hatha & Vinyasa yoga since 1993. His asana background includes experience in Hatha, Ashtanga, Yoga Therapy & Vinyasa. Donny currently practices & studies Ashtanga yoga daily. His teaching skills include Pranayama, Ayurveda, various forms of Tibetan, Yogic & Shamanic Meditation, Holistic Psychology and Yoga Therapy.
Donny studied Ashtanga Yoga (at the AYCT - Ashtanga Yoga Center Toronto) under Dave Robson since 2018. He continues his studies remotely from the city of Pickering.
In 2010 Donny met Swathi Iyengar in Hong Kong where he invited Swathi to Chengdu, China, to teach Yoga Workshops on Pranayama & Yoga Philosophy. He also studies Kalaripayattu (the fighting form of Yoga) under Pramod Prathrose and has stufied 8-Step Mantis Style Kung Fu since 2008.
Prior to 2019, he taught Yoga in India (Mysore, Winter 2018/2019), Thailand (Bangkok, winter 2018), Japan (2015-2018) & Rome/Italy (Winter/Spring 2019) - previous to that he resided in Chengdu, China for 6 years where he taught Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga (2007 - 2013).
In 2012 Donny ventured to Pune, India, to refine a Yoga Sequence for the spine with Dr. Balakhar (Yoga & Spine Specialist) and taught spinal yoga therapy to students at Kaivalyadham which is a government-funded yogic institution in India tasked by the Prime Minister of Indian (by Indira Gandhi in 1934) with connecting science and Yoga. Donny returned to India 4 years later to study Ashtanga Yoga under Saraswathi Jois.
Since 2009 Donny has taught Yoga Therapy for back pain (such as sciatica), rehabilitation and for auto-immune diseases.
Donny continues to practice Yoga & meditation daily as well as study Shamanism & Holistic Counselling under Gael Carter & Marilyn Keffer.
Donny also currently writes about Yoga philosophy/holistic psychology and mental health with Dr. Amanda Whittal (currently based out of Switzerland).
